What is Meat Market Mania?

MMM is a BBQ Grilling Competition with 12 competitors grilling the same meat item for the same amount of time. One Final Round will be held on Saturday, October 21st at the Clovis Location (Shepherd & Fowler). Voted on by a panel of judges using formula point grading systems, as well as consumer voting choice.

What are the specifics for dates and times? 

Saturday, October 21st will be hosted at our Clovis Location, 1990 Fowler Ave, Suite 120, Clovis, CA.

Each entrant receives a (2) 2-3 Pound plain tri tips at 9:00am, but can arrive and set up their grill by 8am and get it fired up. By 1pm, the grilling will be shut down and meat transferred to warming area for tasting and ballot casting. 12 Entrants will be competing and 1 winner will be named at 2:30pm on Saturday, October 21st.

What is the entry fee and what do you get?

The entry fee is only $50, which basically covers the cost of the Tri Tip. We just want financial commitment from each competitor, so everyone shows up and we have a full field of talent. You pay $50 to secure your spot and you receive: A (2) 2-3 Pound Plain Tri Tips (morning of competition) and a FREE 3 Night Voucher Stay at the Westgate Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

All entrants must provide their own Grill, Utensils, and any other "tools of the trade". Their is no limit to what you do with the Tri Tip once received, but it must stay on premise and in plain site of BBQ officials. All entrants will receive their Tri Tip at 9:00am and Grilling must stop right at 1pm for relocation to the warming area. Each entrant will be given a random numbered ticket to determine choice of Tri Tip order.

Entry Fee of $50 must be paid at Clovis Meat Market by Thursday, October 19th by 6pm. 

When and where are the finals?

This year will be a ONE DAY ONLY EVENT at The Clovis Location on October 21st. The winner will be chosen by getting the highest point total from judges on the day of the competition, as well as a consumer voting choice. Consumers can sample each entrants BBQ by giving a suggested donation to "Blue Star Moms", which will collected by The Clovis Meat Market at the Judges Tent near the entrance. Contestants can begin setting up at 8am, receives meat at 9:00am and final judging will begin promptly at 1pm, with results announced by 2:30pm.

What does the Overall Winner receive?

The winner of the Final Round will be crowned "2023 Grilling Master of the Central Valley" and receive:

  • The Title Belt featured in all of our promos, Retail Value of $350.
  • A $200 Gift Card for the Meat Market, with no purchase restrictions.
  • A Vacation Stay Voucher for 5 Nights and 6 Days in Cancun, MX, (or other choice) Retail Value of $1,200.
  • Recognition and starring role for you (and your company) in an upcoming YouTube/Facebook video.
  • Additional Gift Items will be named the day of the Finals on October 21st. 

Who can enter?

Anyone who can BBQ, is 18 or over, and can bring their own BBQ supplies to The Clovis Meat Market location. No employees of The Meat Market or immediate family members can enter. Must show proper ID upon submission of entry fee.
